Queuing outside to book in seems a little unnecessary and having a very young baby, it’s not nice being stood in the rain waiting while sometimes people can take a long time at the desk. A more appropriate solution would be masks at the door and reopen the waiting room.

Because when I can get a appointment to suit my disability which some times mean I have problems dressing when I am stiff in a morning. Staff are very helpful and understand my need to use my mobility scooter. My recent visit with Dr Naheed was excellent. I felt listened to and that she took my concerns regarding side effects of medication I'd been prescribed for my high cholesterol and blood pressure seriously, and she was also willing to address my concerns about chronic tiredness.
She arranged for my bloods to be re-checked, an ECG and chest x-ray all of which have thankfully turned out ok. By the time we met I had stopped taking the statins, blood pressure pills and had run down my sertraline as the latter seemed to be causing a lot of the side effects. I really wanted to see if I could try changing my diet, and exercise more before trying any more medication, and to see if I could cope without the sertraline. Dr Naheed listened and was willing to support my choice.
The negative side effects I experienced have given me sufficient shock to take a closer look at the nutrition of what I eat, to take more interest in my meals and to value the opportunities I have for exercise. I've always found the subject of nutrition overwhelming and have used this as an excuse not to make the effort to learn. Anyhow now I am.. I already feel I have more energy than I have for quite a while. So thank you Dr Naheed.

The staff are helpful on the whole but I dont agree with the policy of not booking appointments in advance when it has taken me 40 minutes to get through. I also do not understand why 1 surgery allows use of the waiting room and the other has patients waiting outside! Also I have had a sutuation where my prescription request by email has not been dealt with but no apology offered.

Been attending this surgery for over 50 years and apart from the struggles with getting appointments during covid and some GP s retiring the ones I've seen recently have been thoughtful and thorough and no appointment has been rushed. Couldn't fault the lovely receptionist either but on occasion in the past some have been a little offhand but lately no such issues. Hope going forward things carry on in the same manner.

Once you get to see a doctor or nurse they are very good but post Covid procedures need to be reviewed and updated. For example the waiting area needs to be opened again or converted into a secondary reception area. If the ‘one person at a time in reception’ policy continues have 2 desks and 2 queues, one for appointments already made and the other for queries. I queued outdoors for more than 10mins in very cold and wet conditions before I could get in to check in for my appointment as those before me all had queries. Luckily I had arrived early so was not late for my appointment.

Sometimes it is very hard to get through to the doctors. It is difficult to make appointments out of school hours. There should be a system for working patients to make appointments for themselves and their children in advance. I am aware of the service at St Peter's. How ever I was told by the receptionist she can't make appointment for my child there due to them appointments are I kh for respiratory.
However, staff can be very friendly. Recently doctor and nurses I have met for myself have really taken their time and actively listened. Explained medical terms. On this note I would really recommend this surgery. The only issue that stops me is making appointments when you are working and your children are in school. Hopefully the surgery can come up with a strategy.

Once an appointment has been made, the service is as good as I have experienced. I find it easier to drive to the surgery to make an appointment than use the telephone service. Apart from the the interminable wait, it has a tendency to hang up as you reach your turn.

I called in for an appointment and was given one on the same day within an hour of getting through to the receptionists which may be due to a cancellation but was greatly appreciated. I was told I would need to have a blood test which was also booked within a week of my initial appointment and the process was really smooth. Both the doctor I visited and the nurse for my blood test made me feel at ease and helped the process be as effective and efficient as possible.

It is more difficult to access appointments than it used to be. Takes on average 30 minutes waiting on the phone to try to get an appointment with a Doctor. However the treatment and attention given by the Nurses is excellent and the Receptionists are always polite and helpful.

I think it's time to open the surgery doors and stop all these elderly patients queuing down the carpark. Also it is impossible for some to walk the long distance around the surgery when we are dropped right at the door for a reason. GP's seem to be reluctant to move forward when the hospital clinics are full everytime we attend

During the covid 19 pandemic over the past two years I have always managed to get an appointment either over the phone or in person. The telephone appointments have always been the same day of my phoning the surgery, I was also referred to hospital and dermatology during this time without any hesitation.

I had an issue ordering a prescription online, so went into the surgery . So many receptionists get bad mouthed about their manners,however the lady I spoke to ( Lesley) was lovely. The receptionist I spoke to was fantastic. I have never dealt with him before so presume he is new. He was friendly, helpful, asked the questions in a polite manner. The service from receptionists has improved the last couple of times I have spoken to them but I felt he really stood out to me, helped me book the best appointments to give me the best service.
What a lovely guy and excellent service.

Friendly and approachable staff. Surgery is excellent regarding Covid prevention measures. GP (Dr S Khan) was really kind and she put my mind at rest regarding my reason for attendance. I'd highly recommend Thursby Surgery. Well done to all the staff, you're a credit to the NHS.
