NHS 111 now offers crisis mental health support
For the first time, anyone in a mental health crisis can now call 111 and receive support from trained mental health professionals.
The 24/7 service is available for all ages, including children, providing vital help through a single phone line.

Check your mental health symptoms
If you're worried about a mental health symptom, answer some questions and we will tell you what to do next.
Depending on your symptoms, we might advise you to:
- call 999 or go to A&E in an emergency
- go to an urgent treatment centre
- get urgent specialist mental health support
- book a callback from a nurse
- see an evening and weekend (out-of-hours) GP
- look after yourself at home
Call 111 instead if you:
- need help for a child under 5
- have complex problems caused by an existing medical condition
- have a care plan from your doctor for your current health problem
